BESPOKE GOLF COURSE CONSTRUCTION ACROSS THE UK AND EUROPE

HAM MANOR GOLF CLUB

During the winter of 2018 we commenced works at Ham Manor Golf Club. The brief was to build a new 18th hole with lake feature and rock wall and a short game academy area. The works were carried out during one of the wettest winters on record and during the phase of the ‘Beast from the East’. New Tees were built to extend the length of the 18th hole, a new fairway approach was built and a new green site was built. These works also included a greenside lake which was lined with a wall using local building blocks of Flint to build a “haha” wall.

The greens were sown using creeping bent grass called crystal blue links while using cores from the golf course. The intention was to keep putting surfaces similar to what was on the golf course but while also introducing an improvement on the putting surface with the creeping bent grass. A number of bunkers were also built on the new hole and at the short game Academy.
